Yulonn grew up in Pasadena, California. For the first 16 years of her teaching career, she spent every summer vacation "teaching, learning and mentoring" within the Pasadena Unified School District. That resulted in her reinventing herself as an effective teacher with her peers and community, for the start of every new school year!
In a Pilot, back in 2017, Yulonn initially arrived at the Major League Baseball Colorado Rockies Team as an English teacher for their English Cultural Language Development Program. By 2018, the virtual progam she piloted was implemented and is still being used today!
